London Olympics was a magnificent outing for sport women, in fact London Olympics is hailed as the Olympics where sport women exhibited outstanding performances in various sport events. On the track events, women were splendid and entertaining. Here is a list of top ten sport women who ignited the London Olympics on track events.

From preliminaries all the way to the final of 200m, Allyson Felix looked capable and even during the final not even Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who had won the 100m gold four nights earlier, could rival her.

As tiny and small framed as she looked, Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce was thrilling to watch at the London Olympics. She defended her Beijing title in 100m by clocking a time of 10.75 sec and also won two silver medals in 200m and 4x100m relay.

Russian Mariya Savinova proved she is still a force to reckon with when it comes to middle distance running as she stormed down the home straight to grab the gold in 800m final



Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia

Coming from seasons coupled with injuries and off track periods, Tirunesh Dibaba was determined to retain her title that she won in Beijing. It was a fitting end to a frantic wait as the Ethiopian Tirunesh Dibaba kicked for home from 600m out to retain her Olympic 10,000m title and won the first track gold of the London Olympics.
